New to forums, hopefully soon to be new to VFRs. Been scouring the internet for 5th gens a few days and I'm in the market to sell my CBR as well. Came across this 2001 example which has been in a lowside but has had everything except the fairing replaced (Owner claims he liked the effect the scuffing had) only has 10k and some change mileage wise. Originally asked 3850, offed to trade him my 2004600RR AS IS(wrecked) with a salvage title and 500 on top. Should I make the drive and check it out? Is it even worth it?

The stickers scream "SQUID"!!! A GSXR sticker on a VFR? I wouldn't want anything he owned and claimed he "fixed".

If he went from 3850 and agreed to a wrecked salvage CBR + 500. RED FLAG.

I think I finally found one worthy of visiting haha. 2000 with 31xxx miles, no wrecks, no GSXR stickers, guy showed me service receipts for 5 different oil changes and a brake fluid flush, idk if the valves have been checked but it sure is CLEAN. Has a Zero Gravity double bubble, risers and comes with a top case. He also just spent 700 bucks on tires (not sure what brand) I plan on going out to take a look at it tomorrow.

Check the ends of the brake lever and shift lever for any damage from a driveway tip-over. And the passenger pegs. Not that it makes the bike not worth buying, but gives you some leverage in negotiating and is a clue to inspect other areas closer, like fairing fitment.

    It does look nice.

He had it posted for 3200 originally. I've got him down 500 to 2700. I looked at a used VFR buying guide from another forum member and if it all checks out hopefully I'll be riding it home! Thanks for the advice!

He's negotiating before you've even looked at the bike? Wow. When I sell something and they start at me without even seeing the item, I tell tell them you can negotiate now or later. Not both. And if you want to continue, then you will be showing up with that money and nothing will need to be said. Prepare to pay, sign and load when you get here. Usually don't hear from them again. Or they say they will come to see it and never do. But I'm kinda a hard ass during sales at first, not rude, just to the point. Weeds out a bunch of fuck-sticks.

    Good luck!

"Installed" with tax and no deal for buying them there. Or he brought in his own tires.

I thought the same thing when I read it though. Yeah... right.
