Did anyone else receive an official Honda Corp. recall notice dated Sept. 2007 regarding the defective ground wire terminals inside the connector between the main wiring harness and fairing sub-harness? The condition for the recall is overheating, resulting in the melting of the connector and a loss of power to various circuits. I had this very problem this past summer, paid for the repair (I shy away from doing my own electrical unless it is basic stuff) and the bike has run great since. After receiving the notice, I haven't heard any report since. I called AHMC, Inc. and they only acknowledged the problem, said they are working on a solution and that dealers will be making the repairs free of charge once a correct part is manufactured. They also reported I would receive a full refund on that EXACT repair which I had done in July 07. I was wondering if any other sixth-gen owners have experienced this problem, if you received a recall notice and if you know of any further information. The notice suggests we quit riding our bikes immediately! Yeah, right! I'm not continuing "ad infinitum" without my VFR... Any news would be appreciated.
yea my fuse holder melted which caused the fuel pump to not work. So I had replaced it for a couple buck via auto zone. I have a friend who works at a Honda dealer who said he would keep me posted. I'm gonna take mine in and have them fix it the right way when they figure out how.
