*Apologies in advance for my run on sentences hahah

So after a couple weeks of rigorous hunting I finally found one!

A 2001 VFR with 21k on the clock. Previous Owner was an elderly gentleman who took good care of the bike it seems. Before selling the bike he changed the oil, spark plugs, bled the brakes and replaced the front rotors and a set of Michelin Road 5s that were installed last year but have less than 1k on them. Came with a Givi monolock topcase and a Sergeant seat already installed, smoked windscreen and a GPR slip on exhaust. I inspected the brake fluid in the master cylinders (The look on his face when I whipped out a JIS driver out of my back pocket was priceless) It appears to look practically brand new with no sludge or goop present, didn't check the plugs but the guy seemed honest enough, this was his 3rd VFR and he REALLY didn't want to sell it but he needed money for medical bills so it had to go.

The test ride: WOW I immediately fell in love, super comfy and the power was on tap and SMOOTH. Shifting gears was a treat and the shift from 1st to 2nd a far cry from my clunky CBR. I will miss the speed of the 600RR but man I feel like I could really do the miles! (which is the whole reason I chose the VFR) I promptly paid the man our agreed price of 2400, loaded her up and was off! I honestly feel like I got a pretty great deal and can't wait to rack up the seat time! PO also included a NIB air filter, front and rear sprocket and chain kit and the original seat, grab bars and a Haynes service Manual

My only planned mods are Knights Design lowered pegs, a set of Helibars (If anyone is selling a pair hit me up!!) heated grips and a smoked Zero Gravity double bubble. Gonna take the fairings off and go over the internals a bit but it was honestly one of the smoothest running bikes I've ever thrown a leg over. I have the first week of Nov off and plan on taking a trip to the Cherohala skyway if it's not too cold. I'm more than excited to be back on two after my accident and to be the owner of a 5th gen VFR. Will upload a few more photos when the sun comes up!

Welcome aboard, nice score! 2400 is a great price! That bike could last you the rest of your life literally, kinda morbid and depressing but it could be the last bike you ever buy baring a new rear shock and fork internal upgrades, but that goes with all bike really. Peace

Yeah I definitely felt kind of bad but I knew if it wasn't me, it was gonna go to someone else.

Go straight to the police station and hand yourself in. . . You stole it off the poor dude !
They really are great bikes for longer rides .
I only mean to pop out for a ride round the block to keep everything moving , 3 hours later . . . I mean that noise.

You can get a Sergent Seat cover for 100 or less and staple it on if your seat foam is in good condition. I have them on three bikes and am a believer, super customer service. I ordered one while I was in Hamburg and paid on paypal and it was waiting for me when I got home.

yeh, they did a French Seam for me on that one, the blue seat cover is cool too, just no French seam.
yes, the seat cover on the black bike and all my bikes go over the original foam. The Kawasaki had the foam modified by a doode named Spencer with dual density blah blah blah over the original foam. I wanted to up the ante and got a nice seat cover from them with orange thread and French Seams for it, I used to use this bike for 75 mile round trip rides to my old job and the seat made a difference First-Wife.jpg 1520114804025.jpg . The black bike has French seams which look cool. The blue one I was not savy on the the terminology and ended up getting what they sold me. I like it, and spent alot of time picking out the colour blue for that bike. I get alot of compliments on the seat colour. vfr w yellow.jpg

Congrats and welcome to the club. It's ridiculous for these bikes to be so cheap when they are so awesome even 20-years on!

Welcome! I bought my 99 about 11 years ago for a similar price, in very rough condition (physically). I've spent half my time riding it, half getting it to look decent; looks like you can focus on the riding part. Have fun and post pictures!
