US versions have this blank. Anyone know why it's there?

There was a Hondaline Analog Clock accessory available. I installed a few in the day. Other parts of the world had the fuel selector valve there.

What he sed. Those thoughtful Europeans sold you a on/off petcock I would assume with a reserve compared to our bikes where you dont get a reserve and you need to remove the seat to turn the tap off. Other thing is a clock, I have a dash with one but never felt the need to install it. IMHO the petcock they sell over seas just complicates things, I have seen them and its typical Honda over engineering.

Does anyone know if this gauge actually fits the round cutout? Would love to do this but dont want to blow close to a 100 for the gauges not to have it fit.

I know this is not the correct year VFR, but is a good idea of the size.

And this is installed on a ST1100. I can measure that recess for you on my ST.

I bet it is the perfect size.

Where can you get it for that price? None of my domestic sources even had the part number listed. Only place I could find one is CMSNL.com and that was my dealer price including shipping.

Wow I've never seen that before. I have a 90 UK model and the fuel on/off/reserve control is there. It's a turning dial with a recess in it.

How do US riders switch from normal/off reserve then?

Likely because it's technically a Marine part # (Boat, not PWC).

We have a low fuel light. The petcock on the bottom of the tank is on or off, that's it.

trip reset button is more useful than the low petrol light imho, you can get screwed though if your hauling arse around then your mpg goes down, so yeh the low level light could help you out. I ran out of gas on every bike I ever owned and that spans 40 years.

I use the trip reset every tank fill and I log every time I fill up as far as miles traveled and fuel used. It does give me a pretty good idea how far I can go if I really have to push it, or before I have to push it if you know what I mean.

    It is smaller.

The body of the gauge is 2", the bezel is 2.4", so you wouldn't remove the "cutout," you'd drill a 2" -plus a hair -hole into the round cutout and the bezel will probably sit right at the "cutout" marking.

I'll post some pics of the process when I do mine.
