Sounds like it has already been shimmed by somebody. Pretty common mod.

Yay, a benchtop of new parts, a manual from v4dreams, redbull and 1.5 days to get my carbs cleaned and put back together. I will be going with the "fuel" scrub down as recommend by Squirel and others. I almost have all of the parts for the F2/929 rear wheel caliper mod. I submitted my order to CMS for 88/89 all things rubber and gaskety so I can remove side covers/coolant lines etc and get some good paint on those parts. Free shipping to USA over $200 bones. Still need the SAMCO tubes and a new thermal sensor for the water pump.

Our work gave us the entire week between Christmas and New Years off paid as a gift. So stay tuned if you are bored and want to see more of the same cleaning, upgrading, stupid questions, and typical forum stuff over the winter break. The RC31 needs to be rode, so I will be taking breaks from working to ride Tetsuo. Last weekend it was 73 and sunny. Winter surfing was nice last weekend as well so I might be a little more salty than usual...lol

Was 14C here yesterday, 17C right now, the white stuff that (barely) covered the grass is all gone. However some rain later and perhaps a touch of white, which I expect will melt off tomorrow.... Tuesday looks like a ride day.... I'd go today but I didn't plan ahead.

47 degrees. RAINED and BLEW last night. But there was a nice break in between systems and the next cold front. Wind is still going pretty good, but that means the streets mostly dried off. So... a little jaunt on one of the VF1000R over to friends for a cider. Felt so good.

Yall have some nice bikes! I didn't get out today on the bike. :( But I did get a laundry list of household and automotive stuff done. Maybe Sunday. The temp dropped 25* in 30min during sunset. One moment I am changing the oil in my truck wearing a t-shirt and sandals and the next I am freezing my ass off walking down to the mailbox watching the sun go down. I did get my car all washed up. She is so pretty now. IMG_4385.JPG

Only ever seen two and never even touched one. It's like having an old Ferrari, but it actually runs. ^^ copy stray

Are we concerned about the oil cooler lines (the rubber ones) being replaced? I have seen some bikes with SS lines (similar to brakes??) in random online photos. To me it looks like we have OE steel tubes into rubber. Thoughts? I like the look of the SS lines, but not sure how to convert if it is necessary.

something like this to the steel tubes perhaps?
