Just turned 50 and just got a VFR750. My first V4 was a VF700 Interceptor in the early 90's in my 20's.
Am I too old to do a track day on my Daytona 675? Cuz I am goin this weekend...

You only realise how old you are by the amount of time it takes to heal after an off

I don't have to have a get off to feel the joints getting old. And you ain't old in biker years if your age doesn't have a 7 in front of it, lol. Will I still be riding at 80, who knows, but it will suck to give up bikes.

My joints are actually killing me less now at 44 than they did at 30. Not doing sports 6 days a week helps

52 and counting, not riding yet, on the hunt for a good VFR800F (missed out on 3 in one week). Coming back to riding after a long time away. Kids and danger and all that ... I am not one for wearing the pants around the home. Yet here I am getting back in to it as soon as I have my VFR.

I can recall forty, fifty years ago wondering about aging and getting to the end of days, when riding would be too physically difficult to continue safely.
Well, now that horizon is coming into view, as the birthday meter is about to turn "70".
The FJR1300 sits in the garage more and more, as it's getting more unwieldy. I had a hard time imagining such a thing as recently as in my fifties, but there it is. If you don't trust that ankle, knee, hip, shoulder, whatever you've got there, it is difficult but finally possible to admit you don't want to bend metal and break plastic.
More and more, the fifth-gen VFR next to that Yamaha is looking like the main bike for traveling and good day rides.
After that, what would be the next downsize?

I got 250 dual sports, fun day trips, and back roads exploring. Crashing on dirt at slow speed is much less painful, and a 50 Mike ride on dirt roads isn't punishment.

I helped my daughter and son in law move yesterday and came to the realization, I am getting too old or this shit. There are other things she would like my help with but I would have to commute every day to help. I can do that on the bike easily. And when that becomes difficult, I guess it is time for a Spyder. 66 1/2 and still kicking about

You will always be an old shit in my eyes. Even as I age, you remain that much older than me.

I did not do any track days last year, fist time in about 20 years. I did throw a plate on the CBR 1000rr and ride it to work a few times (with slicks on it. lol). I hope to get to the track at least 4 times this year, need new slicks before I do. I ride the DR 650 dual spot the most. Street riding has become more and more unappealing with the amount of traffic and distracted driving asshats. Looking to go down in weight on the dual sport. The 650 is a pig, but a good reliable pig.

The KTM 500 looks to fit the bill, its just so expensive!

My annual check in, just back from a spirited ride yesterday through the back roads. As I tell my friends, I try and keep my speed below my age, 77, be 78 in October. Going out and put a coat of wax on the VFR.

There was a guy that tracked super bikes into his 80's. He had a big crash (I think on his CBR1000) and it took a while to heal up but he came back and hauled the mail again. His screen name was Greyhound on the CBR 1000 forum.
