Columbus here. Just bought the 2002 VFR last weekend and rode it from Knoxville, TN. Loved every minute of it!!

Anyone going to the races at Mid-Ohio in July?

Hey, any of you Ohio guys, if you want to take stint into Michigan, let me know. I would be more than happy to have some guys come up and take a ride with me and some of my buddies. get back to me in e-mail if you want, I am only about 45 minutes at most from the ohio border, less than that if you drive as fast as I do, :)
    baldur_@excite.com is my e-mail address.

I'm interested in your Mich. ride. Can you tell me when and how long it would be. ( Days, Miles) I would be coming from the Canton-Akron area. Thanks

I am sure that we could do something that would last the whole day, :)
I have a few places to go near the area, that would be like a day trip. Though I am considering trying to get some guys together to get a whole weekend ride together with an overnight stop in Mackinaw or something like that. I wanted to try and do a ride that would go all the way up the east coast of Michigan and come back down the next day. Obviously if we can get some people together, and plan it all out, it could be any time that we wanted. I wanted to just put out some feelers right now, and see what we might be able to start talking about, and getting together.

Hey thanks for the info. Keep me in mind as you firm up your plans. The only plans for sure with me is the vintage, and Superbike races at Mid-Ohio.

    I'm in New Philadelphia.
Also check out Ridehsta.com...several VFR riders in that club in NE Ohio.
Also remember the COTU usually happens in Marietta in April or May...find that on WDGAH site...do a search.
    I have a 2000 yellow as well...been rode hard and put away wet...its not a track bike:eek:

A little more insight into my bike.

No, sorry I don't. I bought my bike from a Ducati dealer. I really didn't even know it was there, I was just looking (no really....honest!). In a sea of red and black Ducati's there was this bright yellow bike. Even funnier was the fact that even 6 yrs. old it was alot nicer than any of the bikes there. (and a darn sight cheaper let me tell ya) As it was pre-season they really hadn't sold a whole lot lately and the owner really didn't want this Honda in his nice clean Ducati shop. So now that I have had time to bring my baby home and take it for a few 'test' rides  I found that I got a smokin deal! Corbin Gunfighter and Lady seat, Two Brothers carbon slip-on exhaust, Power Commander II, smoked aftermarket windscreen, Pirelli Diablo tires..... 11800 miles. Pricetag??? 4k cash, out the door.

Now I did have to buy a Honda manual, as well as 4 new spark plugs. (the 'mechanic' at the shop told me that the bike was hard to start... ok......) I do also need to replace the exhaust to something nicer at some point but I just downloaded the Power Commander file for that particular exhaust to the bike and it runs sooooo nice...... Gosh I hope it stops raining soon!

So are the guys at Boulevard Honda's shop good guys? I do need to get the 12000 mile service done on it. (Cause I sure am not taking it back to the Ducati dealer! LOL!)

Wow, you did get a great deal. That's barely more than I paid and mine is 2 years older with more miles. Are you sure you don't want to do the 12000 mile service yourself? I hate leavin my bike in the hands of someone who doesn't care if they get a little scratch here or there. The 12k service is mostly inspection and replace air filter/brake fluid/clutch fluid acc to the srvc manual.

The guys at Boulivard seem like good guys. The one I know best is the parts manger Bill Fulmer. You might want to talk to him, he may be able to steer you in the right direction. I've never had trouble starting my VFR. When I installed my power commander I had it dynoed, I think it gets dailed in better that way.

    local trips

No, I work most weekends. I live in Kent. Also, I just moved here from Washington state a few months ago so I really don't know my way around very well. It would be cool to get together with some fellow riders as the days dry out and go for some day trips. I'll have to take my bike in to that shop for it's check-up. I could do the service myself but I do need some adjustments done that I just don't have the tools or the time to do.
