Gas Tank Flush - 1995 question

Hello all,

I have just come into possession of a 1995 VFR750 that has sat for about 5 years. I have looked in the gas tank and there does not appear to be any rust just some murky old gas. My question is, should I just drain the tank and maybe flush it with some fresh gas or is there some other course of recommended action before I attempt to get it running?

 

yes, drain and flush should be enough. get ahold of the honda service manual.

good luck, how many miles on it ? photos ?

 

And don’t forget about the fuel filter.

 

Do you have a recommendation for the fuel filter? Should I go OEM or is there a good aftermarket filter you recommend?

 

OEM works for me.

 

And don't forget about the carb rebuild.
