blue connector.jpg blue connector.jpg Hi everyone - my first post to any forum so please bear with me. I have a 03 VFR800 that I purchased at the end of 2021. First bike after 35+ years of not riding. Last week after a short ride, I went to restart the bike to move it and got a buzzing noise from the dash & no headlights. It would run for a minute then quit. After some searching on line I found the problem of the burnt ground at the blue connector & the quick fix of jumping the ground. I'm not sure if I should do this or look into doing something else like seeing if I can still get the vfrness setup installed that I have read about. Not sure if there are other problems I should be looking for at this time, but my ride is just sitting & the weather is so nice. I want to get it back on the road as soon as I can. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

That Green Ground wire through the 18P Blue connector is a common fault, it carries a fair amount of current and the pin/sockets of the Blue connector is the weakest link.
You only need to patch in an addition good ground to the front/forward Green wire of the plug i.e. no need to add additional grounding to the wire of both sides of the blue connector.

This Ground is a very important one which if not good will cause your headlight relays to buzz and kill your engine. The services effected are.
    - Bank Angle Sensor, kills your Engine Stop Relay = Dead Engine.
    - Turn Signals.
    - All Headlight globes and Headlight Relays.
