Just treated myself to one of these... fantastic bit of kit - will lift bike level or front or rear up, and you can move bike around whilst in the air .... should make life easier for my old bones
To further mod it put in more holes in the black vertical. This will give you more options on height - From memory, I now have 7 holes...
To expand on this, they normally come with 4 holes for height. Just drill a 12mm hole in the centre between the existing holes. Use a nice new drill bit and go in straight. Another thing I also did was to use HOT GLUE to put a tiny rare earth magnet in the end of the arms where the adaptors sit. This then stops them falling out. I also added a few other magnets in various locations to stop loosing the allen key... Even though the legs are colour coded, the stickers do rub off. To make it easier for myself I painted to the same colour markers on the legs to assist me.
Cheers Pete... The idea of marking the legs struck me as well - I used a permanent marker under each leg. Like the magnets idea!
ABBA makes good products, I use the manual lift, works for me the few times I need it during the year.
That's a very nice job indeed!! If you need any pics or measurements of the Abba to finish it off just give me a shout.
Only got the one I took with my NS on in the "stoppie" position... might try the TL on next... it's not as valuable
Sorry... missed this one... Abba rate a max load of 450kg - the promo video shows a Hayabusa on with someone sat on it!!
Not that will really apply in the real world.. The Jack itself is a 3 tonne capacity & everything is available as spare parts / rebuild kits. I had one of my straps fail for holding the rear wheel in place - the mechanism broke, phoned them up & they sent me a new one FOC.... My Skylift wasn't even a new unit from them.. I bought it 2nd hand...
