hello fellow vfr riders.since this is my first post,i'll tell you a bit about myself.i picked up my 2002 vfr last spring and stumbled across your website a couple of months ago.i have owned a klr 250,a klr 650,a katana 600,and i'm happy to say i finally found a great ride in my vfr.this bike is a keeper!it's the combination of power, comfort, handling and style i've always wanted.there is one area, however,i'd like to address before next riding season.(yes my bike is already put away as i,unfortunately, live in winnipeg)i would like to install a set of slip-on pipes,as i find the factory set-up way too quiet.any advice on what to consider/avoid would be great.....also,has anybody gutted the factory pipes?

Some folks have gutted them and liked the sound where a couple didn't..

You also need to check out the thread for the wiring harness recall for your model VFR ..

wow!i spent a lot of time last night looking at video/audio clips, photos and advice.i think i'll attempt gutting the stock pipe for now as it seems pretty straightforward, and the price is right.if that doesent satisfy,i think i'll go with the remus pipes since nobody really had anything bad to say about them.i wil let you all know how it works out!
