Thanks - it is. Rear brake non-operative so will have to attend to that. One wounded blinker stem. Starts right up and rides great! Haven't checked the tire codes yet. Only has just over 10K miles. Was on FBMP located in Port Orange - about a 1/2 hour drive. I mean...how could anyone pass that up?

Was told the carbs were just gone through, oil change, and she got new plugs. Going to contact the shop that did the work tomorrow and see if they have a copy of the service invoice for my records.

I don’t know if it’s just me but I would personally go through everything myself. I have done about 60 bike “restores” and I have learned never to trust anything or mechanics. But then of course , that’s just me.
In any case … CONGRATS BAZZ

Thanks, Six. Great advice. This bike wasn't a restore by conventional definition though. I think it's just a well preserved survivor.

The seller was the owner's daughter. Her Dad bought this exact model when they first came out. She showed me a pic of her Dad on it doing a rear wheel burnout - huge grin on his face. He was in the Marines and stationed at Camp LeJune and now has Parkinsons so no more riding. :( This is not the bike he owned back in the day but one he saw at someone's place when he was visiting them. Sitting in the back of the garage. That was 2 years ago.

She told me she was glad I was buying it. Said one person wanted her to hold it until Sunday. Another guy came by Friday and was whining about some little scratches here and there. Tried to start it and hit the horn button instead...lol.

So here's the interesting "small world" part. The guy they bought the bike from 2 years ago....is the same guy I bought my first Blue RC26 from back in 2018, that I still have. I know this because his name was on the title. I looked at it and said "I know that dude!" Apparently both families are good friends.

One more thing. When I saw the classified....it was after 10pm Friday night. I was puttering around on FB and said to myself - let's see what's happening on MP. Boom...there it was. Crap....no way am I getting another Interceptor. So I closed FB out. 1/2 hour later I convinced myself I should try and grab it....given it was so close by. I sent a PM and she called me the next day and it ended up a very easy transaction.

But I tell ya......I tried NOT to buy it for a while!

Its Fate. For 40 years that bike was going to be yours one day. Great Story. When I had my '86 VF500 that I bought new I used to think this is the greatest bike ever. It was probably true.

These Mini-ceptors are a lot of fun, for sure! ;)

I agree about it being fate. Or maybe even destiny. Things do happen for a reason. As I've said before...I try to be a decent person. Not because I'm trying to get something back...it's just how my parents - mostly Mom since my Dad passed away in '68 - raised me.

I mean...it's a material possession at the end of the day. But sometimes these bikes also become part of our soul, for goodness sakes! :)

Well...the jig is up on the paying ahead thing to avoid a rate increase at my storage place. I went over today to do just that on my new unit and was told corporate caught on and are going ahead with rate increases, even for those who paid ahead. They just deduct the extra from your pre-payment. I think I'm grandfathered in on the one I already did that goes through July, so that's good.

Probably just as well as this provides more incentive for me to get my storage accommodations completed at my place. I have the space, just need to re-organized some stuff and get it built.

    Random.......
