One month later (hey I've been busy!) and finally made more progress.

Got the carbs off and also discovered the rectifier is missing along with the fuel tank sender and air filter. A few hardware goofs too but I have what's needed on hand - plus a set of restored carbs thanks to Joe Nelson (V4 Dreams) to install.

CBR1000F master cylinders. Interesting. You have to do that (brake) when you change out the calipers to RC36 on wheel swaps. I do the clutch master to match.

On stock calipers it should result in more brake lever movement, but probably still acceptable with good feel.

Weather permitting I will have the new carbs back on her tomorrow. I will be using a new set of OEM insulators, of course.

Here are the clamps that came off the bike. One of them is not like the other...lol....

Here are the carbs I removed from the bike. Will definitely rebuild them for later use.

And these are what I am installing. Purchased from Joe Nelson at V4Dreams. Completely rebuilt with new quality parts and synced on a running bike.

OK....managed to get the carbs back on along with some other items. Working on the driveway sucks, BTW.

So far so good. I am SUPER STOKED she runs SO GOOD!

I have to give Joe Nelson of V4 Dreams a LOT of credit for furnishing me with this nicely rebuilt and synced carb set.

    Here's the first start up:

And a 2nd vid with some engine revs.

BTW, I have not adjusted anything in these two videos, but will turn the idle adjustment knob down a tad. Next will be re-installing the fuel tank, etc.

Bike continues to run strong but still unable to get the clutch line bled. Will try swapping out the master tomorrow. Also have a new braided clutch line ordered just in case. I took the slave off twice today to check it's operation and decided to rebuild it "again" just to be sure. Seems to be working but doesn't make any sense why I can't get a firm lever.

I also removed the two inner cowls and took off those "instruments". Will have to figure out how to fill the cowls back in now. Also the temp gauge went to an aftermarket tee with two short hoses where there once was just one so will need to replace it.

New coolant hose installed. Anti-seize on the bolts for the thermostat housing, which had to come off to connect the short little hose.

Joe of V4Dreams made a good suggestion to me to put a little grease on the rubber parts of the cap. Worked much better!

    IMG_1487.JPG

Changed out the clutch master and still no luck on the bleeding. :(

    Well...not so fast my friend!

Remember that this bike arrived with no chain tensioners? Tried to ride it without them and right away knew it was a no go so back to the driveway and up on a paddock stand. Axle removed, tensioners installed, and while testing still up on the stand the back wheel was doing some jerking on decel.

Moving the wheel by hand something is not right. Rubber dampeners missing or damaged?

Anyhoo.......will have to remove the back wheel now and investigate.

Remember the bike arrived with a white rear wheel and factory silver front. That tells you something right there.....

I happen to have a nice silver rim too and a new tire for it. Seems if I'm going to all the trouble to take the whole wheel off maybe it's time to get her back to the factory look.....

    Stay tuned.....

Decided this morning to just stick with this same wheel for now. Easiest path to get her on the road again.

Pretty straight forward deal and I learned a bit more about these bikes so all in all a good outcome.

    IMG_1503.JPG

Fortunately, I had in my spares a baggie of the cush rubbers, that came with the RWB tribute Carolina bike. I never even knew what these were for originally and now I do!

    IMG_1505.JPG

Get the wheel off and man there are nothin' inside that hub! How does someone reassemble a back wheel and leave it like this?

    IMG_1504.JPG

Little tricky getting everything back together by yourself but got her done and went for a few block ride - wow - what a SWEET machine!

    IMG_1506.JPG

Still need to get the rear brakes working but other than that she's rideable so will ride her over to my storage unit tonight to clear up driveway space.

    BTW....this YOSHI sounds INSANE!

    When you're selling it.

Make sure the inner collar that rides in the hub bearing is present. They like to drop out and go missing.
