Background: This is not a pity party, I don’t do pity parties. This is just the facts. Quite a while back I got a 2009 VFR800 VTEC nonABS that needed a little tender love and care. The rejuvenation was progressing nicely until I found a seized master cylinder due to rust. No biggie but if rust is there, there is probably rust in other places. So I started a complete dismantle, re-build and new hoses everywhere. A medical issue (heart attack, off pump quad bypass) interrupted the rejuvenation process. Long recovery period. Well I’m good now (sorta) and I’d like to get back at it. Problem: I can’t remember where all the hoses go. Wouldn’t have been a problem if I hadn’t had the medical issue… Now I’m looking at a pile of old hoses, new hoses, pipes, and not a clue where anything goes. I’ve sorta got some hoses in place (where they fit?) but I can’t figure out where the double banjo bolts go, for example. Is there a good instructional post / source with lots of pictures that will help me along. TIA
I have a '98 (fifth gen) and the Honda Service Manual is very helpful in that it diagrams the hose routing. I assume that Mr. Honda continued that helpful trend with the sixth gen version. Do you have access to the Factory Service Manual? If so that will be the place to start. I'm confident that the always helpful group that make up the membership of this fourm will give additional insight!
Squirrelman speaks the truth! The manual can be found here: https://www.vfrdiscussion.com/index...tec-with-bookmarks-new-cover-ocr/&do=download Section 1-37 would be a good place to start. I delinked my first 5th gen and IIRC the double banjo was on the PCV where the bleeder valve is located. I have a personal phobia about leaving any of my bikes disassembled for more than a day, so i can relate to the issue you may be facing after a lengthy delay.
