Hello Terry....thanks for the nice post and words. Love your White '86.....just gorgeous! Digging the center stand, as well!

(I have another Blue '87 coming that has a center stand....and will be my first Gen-2 with one!)

Yeah taking one of this out on the road is a pretty serious consideration. Capt 80's made a comment not long ago about this and his words have stayed with me on the subject, for sure.

When I had my first VFR, a very nice condition '87, I wouldn't hesitate to run her up over 100mph for short durations when I took her to work on Saturdays, when I wasn't required to take the company truck. Did this on US1 between NSB and Harbor Oaks on my way to Port Orange. It's a divided 4 lane road with zero intersections, residences, or other distractions. The bike never felt anything but super steady and solid!

I feel I could do the same with a few of the bikes I have but really need to spend a little time on all of them on my lift table going through them bow to stern.

But to your point I think your wife had a good point about the benefits of a newer machine w/less miles on her. Especially for road trips and higher speed riding.

I can't do it though. I love the design of the 1st and 2nd Gen's too much. I do have one Gen-3 but that's as new as it gets around here...lol.

The story is still being written on these bikes. As it should be......cheers mate! :)
