That sounds fun ColdD! Way to get that 500 on the road and ride with your dad. We could be going 5 miles and I am stoked when my son rode with me. Can't wait till he moves back to the US. His wife rides too.
He is riding a 2015 CBR400 or 500 can't remember. parallel twin. His wife rides a Ninja 400 parallel twin.

LOVE that Michelin Man, Rogue! Thanks for posting, my brother.....so very cool!

Thanks for sharing your Road America trip pics and story with us, Matt. Like everyone else has said...doing things with your Dad is very special. Especially this!!! His BMW is indeed rad! Sorry to hear about Ryan. Best wishes for a quick and complete recovery! And glad you got your 500 sorted. ;)

I made some decent progress today on these two bikes of mine I've been trying to get road worthy again and will post progress reports on their respective threads.

This being a pic thread....here is one from the Blue bike showing the "low fuel" warning light on. The significance here is this means the fuel tank sending unit is working. Something not always assured on these older bikes. But it is something I try to make sure does work - as I continue working on all of mine. The bike was on it's side stand when it came on - but the light went back off while it was on the rear paddock stand.

The fuel tank didn't even have a fuel sender when I bought it....I used one from my spares.

    Pretty cool! :)

I am really glad to hear you found a way to enjoy Big Red. It's worth it. But "sport cruiser"?
    A GT sounds more applicable.

If my ass doesn't hurt than it is a sport cruiser..hahaha
Told my wife that instead of handing Red to my son, he can have the 400 instead. Although I am thinking ARHMA racing the little one next year....possibly..maybe..unsure. lol

In that case, here is the sport cruiser commuter bike I rode to work today.

Didn't that have a different pipe on it? I thought it was rare to see you with a Tyga pipe.

Man that is a cool setup by the way.

It's had that can on it for quite a while now. Originally had the Sudco can that is now on the 1992.

Yep, factory. It's some fancy 100th anniversary edition thing. Very cool chrome-to-black gradient paint on it. I think there were 1923 of them made to commemorate the 100th.

And thanks for the well-wishes for Ryan. It was a broken collarbone, so he's going in for surgery this week. There's a chance he'll be healed up by Mid Ohio to attempt the other scheduled event he had for this year--but who knows. His team is just him and his wife working out of his garage, so I'm not sure yet where that puts him for 2025. I'm guessing I'll know more after his surgery.

His airbag didn't go off. Not that I know if it would have saved the collarbone, but it's the reason I still wear the old-school analog tethered version. I don't trust the computers. I trust a strap. Probably why I'm one of the only ones still out there with a carburetor, haha. Got a set of Keihin flatslides I plan to play around with later this year.

You make sure you let us know if you plan on doing that in advance. I can always try to make up an excuse that I need to work out west for a week.. and then I can be your water boy for a weekend!

10-4. I am trying to gather my strength mentally and set realistic goals and expectations. The biggest being, don't fall. Good luck with that, but that is a huge goal. Mainly want to have fun and circulate with a little competition as well. Never been a red mist kinda guy, that is why I excelled at endurance racing, and not sprints.
I will definitely keep you in the loop. :)

Ran up to Palm Coast in the Volvo tonight to grab some parts I bought from an eBay auction.

    More on that later.

Took this pic while at a light on the return trip......what do you notice?

No plates, no socks, and poor quality motos go hand in hand?

Good eye! Missing plate is what I was going for. I didn't notice myself until I got home and transferred the SD card to my desktop.
