Agree with Rogue....some really nice video contributions posted - thanks all!

Back to the fairing repair topic.....I've seen many advocating the use of baking soda + superglue. But have also seen folks commenting it's not as strong or resilient to vibration as the Plastifix product.

In this video, if you go to the 5 minute mark....the repairer tests his repair by banging it with a file, so I dunno if that helps with the argument or not - but enjoyed the idea of showing it!

My lips are sealed! You got some body mass off the side. That's not nothing.

My onboards don't sound great either; I discovered my camera had some buttons that were vibrating against their perspex case. Here's one of my "Diesel" VTR1000F. I miss the engine but not the ride position. IMG_0476.JPG

    Video won't post.
I loved my VTR. I kinda wished I never sold it. Sounded beautiful and easy to commute on. Can't remember the riding position, but if you ride your VFRs/Sts, then it probably feels a bit much.

Yes I was very fond of the VTR engine, such a relaxed power unit and easy-going at any sensible speed. The ride position for the upper body was not too different to a VFR but everytime I lifted my feet onto the pegs, I was suprised how high they were, a bit hard on ageing knees. I tried some lowering blocks but then the brake pedal would foul the muffler. My VTR was one of those "it's too cheap!" late-evening buys on a local auction site, so not only did I have to explain to my wife why I needed another bike, I also had to ask her to drive me there "tomorrow morning" some 200km each way as I was due for carpal tunnel surgery in a couple of days (so no riding for many weeks).

I kept the VTR for a few years and upgraded the suspension, brakes, replaced some tired bodywork and got some modified stock mufflers cheaply that allowed a little more "note", fitted manual camchain tensioners (If you know, you know) and improved the top speed from 180km/hr to more than 230...The bike was actually a Japanese domestic market model with 180km/hr speed limiter built into the speedo; some Googling found that disconnecting a single wire on the speedo housing would defeat that. Must have have been used as a commuter in Japan as I found a coin lost into the V that would have been needed to pay a toll. I keep that as my lucky coin now.

Try the video again now, I switched it over to public.

Does every road look like that in NZ? It reminds me of our trip out to Piha and around HWY 29/27 near Hobbiton. :)

That bike is so much faster than that gauge..lol

Yes; pretty sure the top speed was "Made in Japan" on that gauge...

Someone described New Zealand as having the population of one average sized city but spread over an area the size of Japan, which is more or less correct. We have no shortage of twisty roads due to a fairly challenging (and volcanic) landscape.

Here's a clip from my helmet cam, traversing the lovely Coromandel Coast road, about 90 minutes from home, on a fine spring day aboard my ST1300.
