If you guys haven't used it "Plastex" is THE BEST ABS repair product on the market IMHO

I use it alot in conjunction with plastic welding

Yes … undo the top hangers and upper mount bolt
Then tilt the motor. I can have the carbs out in 45 minutes. It’s not as hard as it sounds.

I have and use it - and also PlastiFix by Polyvance.

I'm not sure if there's a difference except the colour of their mold bars...lol.

Is Plastex better than PlastiFix, Stray?

BTW - cracking job on your videos.....really fantastic, sir!

OK thanks. Looks like virtually the same thing as the Plastex. Except the mold bar is blue instead of black. I have used both and they both work fine.

Went for a beach bike ride this afternoon. As I rounded the corner to head South on N. Atlantic towards the Beachway ramp, I see this stool at the curb in front of my buddy LG's house. LG is the former, now retired, Rip Curl rep for the East Coast. So I grab it and stash it in the bushes until I can get back from my ride. Otherwise some schmoe would have grabbed it.

Needs a re-taping but I was thinking this would be great for working on my fairings - and other motorcycle work.

I didn't know what the NT" stood for - so just did a Google search and found it is a Northern Tool brand stool. Then reading the reviews I noticed this one:

"Great addition to my shop especially when doing hours of batch sanding of small parts. I can turn up the music, settle in and give my knees a break while I sit and knock out a lot of work. Comfortable, highly adjustable and although strong, also lightweight, so easy to move around the shop as needed."

Working in my service bay today trying to get everything organized. I currently have one of my Blue bikes on my lift, stripped of brakes, clutch slave, fuel tank, seat, and carbs. I did rebuild the carbs but they ended up going on the White bike I brought up from South Florida. I think that's where the brake calipers went too but not sure. I have so many balls in the air right now I've been bouncing from one bike to another as I see fit.

But I'm on a mission now to get this Blue bike off my lift so I can use it as needed with my other bikes. First I have to clear everything off of it and the lift which has served as a catch all for stuff in the course of other work items. I also bagged up and moved all my bicycling items out of the service bay. That made some room on the shelves for stuff I had sitting on the floor.

You guys know the drill.....like musical chairs sometimes!

It's hot and humid out too, of course but I have 3 fans blowing on me so that helps.

I'm taking a few things out to my storage unit as well. Three pairs of brand new tires and an exhaust system. None of which I will be able to get to for a few weeks. In the meantime I have some rims to clean up and possible re-paint and those will stay here for that work.

Can't wait to get back to this Blue bike. I bought it in 2018 with a locked and inoperable fuel cap. Back then I didn't know how to get it off so the bike sat under a cover for a few years. As I learned how to do more stuff I eventually pulled her out of mothballs and got the fuel cap off and then started work on the rest it. It still hasn't been run now for at least 7 years, so will have to go through that ritual of what is done for engines in that state.

This is the Blue bike that came with CBR wheels front and back and a pair of really old tires...lol.....

First though gotta get everything re-organized.

The day I brought her home......

Ya boy got his first ever race win yesterday in Ultra Lightweight Superbike at Blackhawk Farms with ASRA. The heavy hitter who would have gapped me near 3 seconds per lap didn't enter this race on his Kramer 690, so it was kind of my race to lose. But I've been in this situation before, and I've never won. Always due to some mistake I've made. Launching and getting through turn 1 with no other bikes to follow was a new experience. Then it was just setting the pace.

I practiced my SV all Friday until it just stopped sparking in the 6th session of the day. I drove back home on Friday night and swapped to the secret weapon I wasn't planning to race until later in the year once I'd broken through a few mental barriers on the SV. Saturday was my first day riding the new bike.

    Also I have a Kramer 690 now.

The "random service photos" portion of this post is that these things are kind of a pain in the ass to change oil on-site. I'm glad I bought thinner safety wire for it too. I'd also never even heard of the recommended 10W60 oil they call for. And apparently they just leak oil from a few spots. And I'm supposed to just not worry about it. But of course I'm worried about it. My Japanese bikes don't just leak oil unless there's something wrong with them. So luckily one of the best riders in the Midwest has been nothing but helpful and encouraging about trying to bring me up to speed on all of the little intricacies and oddities of this 280lb, 75hp scalpel of a lightweight motorcycle weapon.

Yes-congratulations, Matt - very well deserved to a good dude!

I never heard of your Kramer 690 so did a Google search and see that they are made in Germany. That's awesome! German engineering! If you can't have Japanese engineering - you're still doing good. :)

    And only 280 lbs.....sweet!

Yeah I wouldn't like the leaking thing either. I know when you are running synthetic oil sometimes you get that. But don't know for sure what's causing it. Good to hear you have a mentor to help fill you in on everything.

And your new chick looks very pretty - nice smile! Stoked for you my friend!

Thanks for sharing - have fun!!!
