Tank has been repainted and part of the windscreen to match. New seat cover I installed years ago.

Ahh sweet! So you bought it and then fitted your old/new seat?

Oh yes. Quite capable on a tight ride and a sweet little engine.

    Nice!

I was asked recently which Interceptor I liked the most out of my collection and pretty much without hesitation replied it was my '86 VF500F, because it was lighter than the others and also I really like it's design the best. And it runs so dang good too! :)

Went thru and verified some stuff. Eliminated the locating bolts on the bars to move them into a reasonable position (less tiller / pullback). Switched to a Hawk GT master cylinder and gained some brake feel. They are the same size, but the original lacked any feedback. Can't really explain it, everything was clear and proper. But I guess I don't really care now.

Ran perfect. Spins up fast and actually boogies. Turn signals are not the final fitment, but I needed something for some test runs. Likely going with a stock style in the shortest stalk possible.

If for some reason the wife doesn't groove on it... let the mods begin. She better fucking groove on it, hard to do any better for her size that also fits in to the Captain 80s collection. And besides, I'm still building another fairly modded VTR250.

I'm digging that. The only thing is the dis-continuity of the white stripe under the seat and the lower cowl.

Rear shock seems stiff and it def has rebound issues. Shock was good when we picked this up for my sister years ago, but it is freezing up. I'm a little surprised, don't think they are necessarily known for it.

4K mile shock donated from the VT250R project should take care of it.

Here I have the rear partially apart and the inner fender released so I can slip the old one out.

ive found that the hawk centerstand will work on the vtr to get it up ;) but not for use on the road.

looks like a modded attachment point at rear of your upper fairing ? improvised screw instead of internal locating tab.

i have alot of spare vtr parts including a good frame, wheels, etc. and 2 good-lookin rust-free tanks.

I might need one of those tanks if I can't clear out the rust. Carbs and forks look pretty bad as well. Did they make aftermarket caps for these types of tanks?

    Sorry to highjack Capt.
