You pass them in the corners! :) At the last CSS class I was passing students on S1000RRs and I was on a Yamaha R3. Talk about getting left if the dust, on the straights they blew by me like I was going in reverse. Most of them still haven't got the corners down too well so they would slow down way before the curve and I'd get right up on their 6, then draft them through the first corner and then go around them on the outside on the next one! Then I'd stay in front and get a gap through the next few corners, then do it all over again with the next group of riders in front of me.

I was able to do this because I've been doing so a lot of track time at that track, so my confidence has increased, my lines have improved and my braking has improved. Even on an under powered bike you can still go at a decent clip and have fun. In all honesty, I think I had more fun on the little R3 on Sunday than I did on my VFR on Saturday.

Bringing old discussion up to date.
My favorite highway is in trouble again: Angeles Crest Highway, also known as state Route 2, is currently closed between Cedar Springs, near its intersection with the long-closed northern end of state Route 39, all the way east to where the highway hits state Route 138 near the Cajon Pass. In total, it's a roughly 27-mile closure, pocked by washed-out roads, crumbled asphalt and other recent storm damage.

That's a typical pot hole in the city streets in Winnipeg during the spring thaw.
