straycat is of course right. Insta-buy.

Couple notes. It indeed looks like an 85, but someone has fitted the 86 dual headlight. Front rotors have been replaced with what appear to be EBC. Pretty sure there is a DMr modified CBR600F3 rear shock on it. So it may have some upgraded front internals too.

While the bodywork has probably been repaired in places, it at least looks solid. Missing one of the mesh side covers, the oil fill cover and the two spring-loaded vents in the lowers. The lowers have not been made from two halves, or at least it's not obvious.

If it was closer to me I would have been on the road by now with my tailer attached to my truck!

It's such a small bike, it will slip right into a small empty space in your shop. Hardly notice it.

Not sure how much decent paint jobs are in your area, but around here to get that back into a decent Tri-Colore I might as well buy a nice one.

But to go thru, update the front end if needed (non-negotiable on these beasts) and put a nice one color paint job on with tasteful period graphics... feasible.

I certainly don't have straycat as a neighbor.

Most paint guys in my area have gone crazy. Seriously. I don't even know who I would take a real job to at the moment. That's one reason I just don't go all the way on some builds. Oh, that, and a serious lack of funding. I have tires and shocks and brakes and chains and oil and fork springs and emulators and seat covers to buy.

Hah! Yeah, I can take a pic next to my NS50F if you want a good comparison, they are about the same.

Well... that's quite a price drop. I think his dream of cashing in on a 1000R has been dashed with that paint job. Maybe de-sticker a little might be a good move too. Try to class it up a bit.

Yeah, too many stickers make the bikes look a little silly, says the pot.

Hah. Not my intention. And I can be guilty. But you can get away with some quantity with quality product and placement.

Vast majority on that bike don't qualify.

If I was interested in a long term project I guess that would be the perfect bike. Take a couple of years and get it back to original as possible. Problem is I have done several and I just don’t want to do that anymore. Well , for now .

It would be a really good candidate for a tribute build. Not 100% tits-fucking correct, but inspiration from the 1000Rs, the NS400R and some 82-83 HRC race bikes like the FWS it was itself inspired from. Maybe some yellow "number plates" in the right places if executed correctly.

It's been done before, but I would love to take a crack at it.

NOT my idea of nailing it. Sorry if this is somebody's that they know, but there are so many things wrong with this execution.
