Just checking in. I’ve been reading the forum to get some insight on my VFR1200F I’m picking up next week. Appreciate all the good info posted here. Its a 2010 with OEM panniers that’s been reflashed by Sabsteef. Currently has a Hotbodies MGP silencer with an Akro midpipe. The OEM exhaust is included.

I’ve restored or refurbished a few bikes, the latest being a 1979 Honda CBX which is currently for sale. It’s the 2nd CBX I’ve owned having restored a 1980 model about 15 years ago.

Looking forward to learning more about this wonderful bike. Patrick

Picked up my VFR yesterday. Nice bike. Got her home and parked with the CBX. Will dive in and take a good look at it tomorrow. 20260424_132320.jpg 20260424_190738.jpg

I think your new acquisition needs some orange pin-striping on the black tank to match the lovely old lady next to her.

Swapped the original muffler back on today. A little tinny on the sound, but much quieter.

If you want quiet but with a bit more rumble, you can leave the exhaust flap open at low revs (by default the ECM opens it at 4000rpm). As easy as disconnecting the mechanical cable at the servo motor on the rear subframe right side, doesn't throw any codes. I think the bike may run a tiny bit better with the flap doing its thing however.
