Just saw posted on FB that a friend of mine just got home from the hospital. It happened Wednesday. I didn't even know he rode motorcycles!

By the look of that front fender......he may have run into the back of another vehicle.

Thanks - I do too and will check on him later this week. He does car restoration work and is a high quality human. Would appreciate everyone keeping him in your thoughts and prayers.

    His words:

Moving around is very uncomfortable. Lots of aches and pains and bruised and sprained muscles. I did suffer an injury/tear to my left vertebral artery which affects blood flow to the brain, which could lead to a clot, which is not very good.

Well....I thought I'd be posting a pic of a part I bought from a guy in Canada but looks like he may have messed up the address (is what I was told by Canada Post) and it's now being sent back. TEN freaking days I've been waiting to get it!

How can someone mess something up like that?

I won't reveal what the part is but it is NOS, OEM, NLA, and something almost worth it's weight in gold it's such an important part!

The seller/sender has been informed. Push come to shove he will re-mail it and I will still get it --- but after 20 more days of waiting.....

New update on my previous post ^^^......

I figured going to my local post office this morning might pay dividends. At the very least it was worth trying - to see if the package was still there.

Turned out it was. And here's the best part.....because the mail carrier and I know each other pretty well, he saw the box with my name on it and the wrong address and was going to bring it with today's mail.

He was off work yesterday or he would have done it - the other fill in person obviously didn't realize what was happening.

The house number was correct but the street was wrong - 2 blocks over and the other main drag going north-south on the island.

How that mistake was made is a very puzzling.

At any rate......I did receive what I wanted - plus some more stuff including some fairing hardware that is also quite valuable!

    The pictures tell it all.....

Thank you, Capt. This is the one I mentioned in my PM to you.

I tell ya...I really had to fight for this one. Jumping through all kinds of hoops! You guys have no idea...trust me! Most people would have just said "Screw it - I'm done."

    It's so pretty.....now I'm afraid of getting it dirty...lol.....

Changed out the battery this morning on the '84 VF500F from the one it came with for a Motobatt. At this rate - every one of my bikes will have Motobatts....lol.....

    (from FB)

I look at 1984 as one most memorable seasons of racing in America. Honda really wanted to win the AMA Grand National Championship, and they weren't taking any chances. Not only did Honda supply factory riders Ricky Graham and Bubba Shobert with the potent RS750 flat track machines, but to give the pair a chance for extra Grand National points from road races, Honda built a pair of special VF750 AMA Formula 1 bikes, essentially an AMA Superbike punched out to 860ccs! Those things had to be torque monsters. Here's a shot of Graham (3) and Shobert (77) on the Honda F1 specials and Honda support rider Doug Chandler (10) on what looks like a regular 750cc Honda Superbike, although Cycle News reported it was a stock VF1000. Shobert shocked the road racing establishment later that season with his victory on one of the 860cc specials in the rain at Mid-Ohio. There's not a lot of information about the 860 specials out there. I'd love to know more about them from those who are in the know. Also what bike was Chandler on here? Was it a 750 Superbike, did Honda make a third 860 special, or was it in fact a VF1000? (Michael Pons photo)
