These oil pan O-ring gaskets are no longer available through Honda. The only one I found was a package of 4 for $136. It's a little steep. I was told never to use RTV sealant with an o-ring ( an old one ) but I'm getting desperate. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hondabond is a much superior choice over RTV in this case.

I wouldn't hesitate at all, and have done so, no problem.

If you think the oring will come out without breaking, lay a small bead in the groove, reinstall, and then apply a smear on top. Clean the oring before reuse. Let everything dry overnight before any filling of oil or running.

I have removed the o-ring and it is in good shape. Your suggestions sounds like good advice to me I will try it.
    Thanx
