I snagged an '85 VF1000 when I got my '84 VF700F. Like the headline says, I'm planning on swapping the bigger forks and a few other parts.
They look identical, but for the diameter, and the rotors and calipers seem to be the same as well. Does anyone know of any snags I might run in to on the rebuild or whilst riding?
    Thank you in advance,
    Gator

I've no experience in this specific swap but the most critical thing is likely to be the steering stem length (If not the same) as you'll need to swap the triple clamps and handlebars across to match the fork diameter. You can always swap the brake master and calipers as a set too. I did a hybrid swap of a VFR VTEC front end onto a VFR800Fi and the only area where there was any issue was the steering lock as the ignition barrel ended up at a slightly different height and the locking pin wouldn't engage the socket in the frame.(fixed with some shimming with washers)
