    Ah man you rock! Thanks for saving my bacon. :)

    I forgot, mine had a spring, but I wonder if I put it on the wrong way or something. I have never taken this style apart so when the last screw came out the entire assembly shot across the work bench. :(

    Just disable the vacuum and move on. It will only screw you over like an appendix on a sailing vessel.

    Update:

    front end is back together and now it is time to flip the bike around and replace the nasty stock shock with a less rusty unit. Chain to be replaced as well.
    Seems to be holding oil and coolant so far so that is a bonus. Still waiting on my carb bowl seals. eBay jacked up my timeline.

    my vtr250 is almost the only one of my bikes ive ridden for the past 5-8 years --- its light, efficient, handles well and has the right amount of power for getting around any city gallery_3647_3505_21273.jpg ---------- you'll love the little thing when u find out how much fun it is to ride and wonder why anyone would need more power :cool:
