When I refurbished my 6th gen I fitted some wheels that had been stored for a few years. Even with completely rebuilt callipers and master and new pads there was quite a bit of drag present. Eventually I realised my discs had fine surface corrosion from sitting for so long; I said to hell with it and just went riding. After a few good stops, the roughness polished off and they have been super smooth ever since.
