Well it isn't new looking. If you want new, go buy new. I think it is fair on both sides. I see plenty of areas that need a good cleaning and restore.

My take is to some degree this is an example of the market not being as overall strong right now as it could be for motorcycles in general.

Add to that - like you said - it wasn't exactly a pristine example.

33K miles isn't a lot but that amount isn't anything to write home about either.

And even though we are talking about an iconic Honda interceptor model, it's not at the same cult status as an RC 24 - or a few others.

Now, compare to my purchase of the same model, one year older, just over a year ago......

Mine was pristine and had only 10K miles. It had also just been serviced - the invoice (below) showing $825.02 spent.

I paid full asking price of $2,300 - without hesitation.

Local sale so no transport cost.....just an easy half hour drive away.



There are deals out there. You just have to be patient and keep beating the bushes......

signal having malfunction, corrected issue. Rear brake is not
working, recommend to x before riding. Test Road.

Yup… there is also the fog of purchase. You never know what is hiding under all the body work. There is always something. On my RC30 the fork seals were toast… probably happened on the transport.
I’m almost done with that repair.
Your Vf500f looks great by the way and was an awesome deal…

He posted a valuation chart that showed his $16K as the highest valuation in the range for one in "Concours" condition.

OK - well those aren't always in sync with reality. We all know that. And his isn't a "concours" condition example. And he probably knows that, as well, so he won't get his $16K. No skin off my back.
