You Know You're Getting Old When:

WTF is a phone book?

 

Or when you have forgotten all about it unless it is brought up. Trust me. You forget things a lot when you get up into your 70's

 

You know you're getting old when while putting in some landscape ties, and you are driving the pegs down with the hammer and your arms get too tired to keep doing that. So you "walk', you not whip anywhere any more, to the shed to get the sledge hammer, and you can't lift the fucking thing.

 

You know you are getting old when you have been so busy moving in the wife to be that you have not posted in ages. Randy I did sneak off to the North Cascades for 5 days!

 

Great too bad we were unable to meet up. But my summer was indeed busy with travel for motorcycle related things.

 

i keep forgetting where i put my bike keys after the last ride.

 

You know you're getting old when you go into an antique store and the staff won't let you leave.

 

Or when the stuff on the shelves was new when you were ten.

 

... the bike you bought brand new, in her model year, is now old enough to drink.

Been there and done that a year ago. (26 years here in Michigan)

 

Hmmm... I never thought about it for the VFR... But probably won't as it may be too restrictive of a rules set if I want to do some traveling to ride.

That didn't stop me from registering the '91 Motor Home with vintage plates though. 10 years for $70 beats $100/year. Everywhere I go it is a show.

 

The law was updated a year ago last spring to allow the use of the vehicle for any reason (no restrictions) between the end of May and the beginning of September (see the last line below), which is 80% of the riding that I do.

"Owners of historic cars, motorcycles, and trucks have the option of registering their antique vehicle with either a Michigan historical license plate or an authentic Michigan license plate.

Definition and use of a historic vehicle

To qualify for a historical or authentic license plate, the vehicle must be:

• At least 26 years old. (Age is calculated by subtracting the vehicle model year from the current calendar year.)
• Owned solely as a collector's item.
• Used only for events such as historic club activities, parades, and car shows. Historic vehicles cannot be used for routine transportation.

Note: The restriction on the use of a historic vehicle is suspended during the period from Memorial Day to Labor Day, allowing these vehicles to be driven at any time (MCL 257.20a)."

 

...when you bleed three bikes in an hour and you continue to put off the VFRs. Later this year!

 

That's more of an "I hate linked brakes" thing than a "dang, I'm gettin old" thing, but age does influence it. lol

 

You may be right...but they all still need it done soon. Planning for when they need tires, which is also soon.

 

Live life on the edge a little and see how dark the stuff gets before you squeeze and nothing happens!
