I'm excited to join the forum after having just picked up a '98 VFR800 barn find for £200! Although I've worked on and restored smaller bikes, this is my first big bike and also the youngest and most complex. I've manage to get the bike running and I've repaired the digital display on the dash but I've got a bit more work before getting it on the road. My next challenge is fixing the rear brakes as the rear master cylinder is currently dry. However, the brakes on these bikes look to be quite a daunting.
Welcome ....."the brakes look daunting" .....how so? They're pretty basic, particularly if you have a manual The rear brake being dry could take a fair bit of solvent to release it Where about are you? I'm north of Bath
not too difficult if, as the lad suggests, just follow the service manual-----theres pictures if ur too busy to rread giver a go, u can fixit
I consider the linked brakes on a 98 to be anything but basic. Doable on your own though, but have a genuine Honda Service Manual.
