VFR both 750 and 800 I am hanging up my spurs and moving to the CB1000F. I have been contemplating this move for some time and have decided to pull the trigger on the retro-bike. I currently have a 2008 VFR 800 that I have bequeath to my good friend. However I don't want to wait until I pass for him to have this bike. I called him yesterday and asked him if he would mind if I gave the bike to him earlier than first thought. Of course he agreed. I mentioned that there is one stipulation that he actively ride the bike for one year then he can keep, trade or sell if he chooses. The CB1000F that I am interested in is approximately 560 miles round trip. I made that same ride in 2010 when I bought this bike new from a dealer. This 2008 was still in the crate when I bought it in 2010. I flew to the dealer, they picked me up at the airport and I rode the bike home in the hottest month of the year for us, July. I'll bet I lost 5 pounds during that ride. I likely drank a few gallons of water along the way to stay hydrated. I ran out of steam when I hit downtown and had to stop. After a 30 minute break I made the final 12 miles home. I was so exhausted that I showered and landed in bed. I wasn't able to show off the bike until the next day. That same dealer has the CB1000f in stock and this time I will gladly pay to have it delivered to my garage. Just for grins I searched for used VFRs nation wide and found about five. VFR owners are loyal and I have been for 28 years. Now I am jumping ship for the CB1000F. CB1000F by DPS posted Aug 27, 2026 at 8:18 AM
If it's the time for you, then well done passing the 800 to somebody who'll appreciate it and more importantly ride it
