Thank you! I scored it off eBay back in '05. Had been looking for a year or more just waiting for the right deal to come up.

Was subscribed to a 356 message board and there was a guy who always posted "head's ups" on ones he ran across. Always very early - probably while drinking a cup of Joe. Anyhoo, I clicked on the listing and it didn't really have a lot of photos tbh but said a bunch of stuff had just been rebuilt (brakes, shocks, etc.) and it located in South Florida so an easy transport for me. I ended up taking a greyhound bus down to pick it up and drove back on I-95.

The listing had been started in the wee hours of the morning and had no bids yet and a BIN not much higher than the staring bid. I KNEW once bidding started it would go higher than the BIN and so this was a now or never kind of deal. I hit the BIN and then called the seller.

Found out the engine was in PA being rebuilt by a German mechanic the owner knew when he lived up there. So I waited until it was shipped back - took a couple weeks or so - and met the owner at the greyhound station where we drove to the shop that did the engine R&R - just one day after the re-install.

The car ran great all the way back home ~3.5 hours up I-95.

The listing made no mention the engine was being rebuilt nor that it was a "sunroof" couple. Factory electric sunroof that worked - and still works!

The best part is it has a scratch down the passenger side, only noticeable from 10' in. So many had told me to get it re-painted. I'm like no.....then where would I get a cool "jealous lover's scratch" story to tell?

The original owner who lived about a block away. It was kinda it's code-name with friends when I first started restoring and modifying it.

Kinda like "Chrissy", that I named after he got mad I wouldn't sell it back to him. I kinda always called it that, but when I took it to this level it got new graphics.

I have always wanted to get my little CB-1 back and now I decide to sell bikes to pay for car racing and the 3rd CB-1 in 3 weeks pops up on an auction site. wrong time to downsize. And....and they are all midwest at best. Damn you moto gods!

Finally.. RS125 is ready to button up. Weirdest thing I have seen on a rear brake. The rear brake was hanging after flushing. Full tear down revealed an oversized PLASTIC piston, just big enough to lock up. I found a new piston and seals in my junk pile. So lucky it was the same size piston and seals! Stoked! Bodywork and test ride for sale tomorrow.
