Looking at an 86 VF700 with 38,164 miles. Supposedly has never been a track bike, but needs some bodywork, and has charging problems. Is this mileage too much, normal, or way out of range?
    Thanks,
    John

My 87 700 has 41,000 on it and sill running strong. Ive heard many times that these bikes can go 100,000 before major rebuild is needed. but I dont have any experience with that though.

    M7 86 has 4,270 miles on it. And no, I didn't misplace a comma.

agree... i have heard (minus the 1st VF750), VFRs can get upwards around 150,000. seems on par, i had one with 22k. but the 1st of hearing one with less than 5k, well done! if anyone is looking or knows of a R/W/B 750 for sale let me know.

Over 60 K on my bike, runs great, Stock plastic cracks up after about 40 K or 15 years, LOL. My bike was hit on the left but still runs great, Im putting her back together. The VFR V 4 is a superb motor. My bike took its first valve adjustement at 52K! Not bad for a hi rev sport bike motor over 20 years old!

bought an 86 750 with 46k miles, starts right up with no problem. Haven't ridden her yet, doing heavy maintenance: replacing fork seals, pads, tires etc., but at 300$ I guess I got a pretty sweet deal.

Mine had 30,4k (miles ) on clock when I buoht it (49k kms) in 2001, It now has 45,3k (miles) (73k kms) and still running great, thro I found out it needs a new sparkplug cap at the moment. Have adjusted valves twice, and changed oil onec a year now matter the milage (accept one year I didnt ride att all), but I dont ride to much, 1,8-4,9k miles a year.

So you think you got mileage....?

Just stumbled upon an article where a guy in France got his 92 VFR750 up to 371,000 km (this is over 230K miles) and still going strong, with original gearbox and engine. Commute, touring all over Europe, and he even took it to the track too.... Here is the link if you can read french :

    http://moto.caradisiac.com/Rencontr...FR-modele-1992-Vraiment-Faite-pour-Rouler-144

I have never doubted the VFR ability to achieve great mileage, but this is just mind blowing. A testament to Honda's engineering prowess and I reckon it also says something about gear-driven cams.

I got about 68,000 km ( 42k miles) on my bike - I rest assured I am nowhere near its end of life....
