an innocent question like this could easily erupt into a multi -page argument with names being called!! You know that??

OIL threads belong in the Controversial Forum!!

I'll wade in by recommending MOBIL1 synthetic ...but state that i don't use it currently.

I use Honda GN4 10-W40 in all my bikes. It is hard to go wrong with something that says Honda on it!!!

i believe i read on another site about below-average testing results on that Honda oil done by professionals under controlled scientific conditions in a laboratory ........
..see how quickly it all goes wrong???

in any case, there are FAR BETTER oils availabe than Honda buys and relabels as its house brand.....according to believed- reliable authoritative internet scources.

    Bundy:

Your 93 VFR uses 10W-40 oil. What brand you want to use is up to you.

In addition, you NEED TO BUY A MANUAL. It will answer all tune-up questions and give good directions on the procedures to complete the tune-up.

Clymer makes a manual. go to www.amazon.com

Oil brands are like religion, everyone has an opinion on which is best. Remember, millions have been killed in the name of religion. It could also happen with a runaway oil thread.

Ancient Wisdom: most recent ancient archaeological decriptions from Egyptian pre-pharonic tomb inscriptions read: "Any brand -name oil OK if change at 2000 mile or 40-day camel ride (or so) intervals."

    Mobil 1 !!!!!!

AVOID newest, low friction, fuel efficient oils.
