East of Great Falls, Montana on Highway 87 as far out as my hands can stand it (it's only gotten up to about 45 degrees everyday I've ridden). I plan on taking this turn off of Highway 87 up to Neihart, Montana. If you follow this road all the way you can take I-15 down to Helena and then back to Great Falls. It's a gorgeous route I once took in my Accord 6-speed. :car:

I got to take a ride through the country by the lake. It was a nice day the 10 speed crowd was out in full force. man they love to take up the whole road went through some coners not to fast rained here and trucks get mud-dirt on road hate to crash. I then almost got a squirrel but he decided to get outta the way I don't risk running off road for small animals them or me a cow or deer is a little different.. I then got back on regular roads in urban area kids all looking at the viffer while moms on the cell phone not watching what shes doing..gas it get away..Do any of you ever have that one car that has to pass you? I mean be doing 55 in a 40 they still gotta get by can't figure it out. or its the tardo in the import car with the coffee can exhuast pipe wanting to race what are they smoking.? go back into neighbor hood washed the vfr down lubed chain looked at it and put it away what a good ride...........

Took it out on Highway 17 (Deep River, Ontario) today for the first time. Temperature finally peaked at zero C, so the risk of ice is a little lower.

First time at highway speed. Nice. Washed of the salt spray afterwards.

Just got back from a great ride with a local sportbike group here in Phoenix. Rode out to Vulture Mine Road (fast at first then some more "technical" stuff). Then up to Yarnell, did a run or two up Yarnell Hill - NICE smooth sweepers along a hillside. On to Bagdad (yep, you read that right ) via the 96 and more fun desert roads for lunch. Back down 97 with some rolling twisty roads. The only damper on my ride, personally, was the speeding ticket I got coming down 93 on the way back. Highway Patrol hit me at 90 mph in a 65 ( yeah, dumb:frusty: , but I can take my medicine: I got what I deserved ) Still, all in all a great day for a ride here in AZ before the weather gets ugly. Slightly breezy in the low 80's by mid day.

The new Sargent seat is working out nicely, but still, a 300 - plus mile day still makes the old butt tired!

Was going to ride to work this AM at 02:00 but decided against it. Half way there ran into 300 meter visibility in the biggest frigg'n snow flakes you ever saw. Slowed the truck down to 50 KM and still thought I was too fast. WHERE THE $%^* IS SPRING AROUND HERE ANYWAYS.

You know...last winter I took my truck to work a total of two weeks...top...through the whole winter. So far this year I have done the same. But this year on the bike.

Lord. Please keep that flakey white shit up there for a while.

Living in the south eastern corner of the continent I tend to travel roads with descriptive names - the Black and Reefton spur roads, the Whitfield road, Granya Gap, Elliot and Alpine Ways ( when on longer trips )... anywhere where there are twisty roads that have been well maintained (?) and arerelatively devoid of traffic...

    finally spring, sort of..

I've been riding the two-lane rural roads NW of detroit area on my new RWB '07..up to about 160 miles so far. I'm getting refamiliar with road riding - last and only other road rider was a Yamaha 650 special from 1980something that I road in college for a short while in the mid-80's.

No close calls on cell phone moms - avoiding city traffic as well. Found some twistie roads. Yesterday passed another VFR going the other way and followed a nice looking Ducati setup for touring. The biggest issue has been finding days where the snow & salt are gone and the temp is 38F or higher! Next saturday is safety training - I hope i won't have to stud my tires

I really like the way this bike feels..I've been riding woods/enduros' for 10+ years and was worried the road bike would feel like a land yacht. but this thing has such a low CG, it leans just by thinking about it....lovin' it.

    Nope, not spring yet!

We got about 8" of snow Thursday night into Friday, with a couple more inches Saturday morning for good measure. Been 40s and 50s since then so the main (read least interesting) roads are in decent shape, save for some shaded corners with water and ice and the roller coaster like frost heaves. Some times it felt like the road was trying to give a VFR sized wedgy!
Just to give you some idea of the conditions here at one point I pulled into a gas station to top off and at the island next to me were two snow mobiles topping off their tanks.
Anyway, just did about an hour long loop of 4 main roads into the next town over, down into Mass and back. I fear it's going ot be atleast a couple weeks before it is even worth considering the tback roads.

No kidding. We got a blast of snow yesterday too :smow: and the air temp was 5 degrees C. WTF. And even though it is sunny today, it is colder than a witches tit. But after a few errands, I am going for a ride anyways. Just have to watch the cornering cause the tires don't really get a chance to warm up.:vtr2:

We will have to put two groups together for a Baker ride sometime.:canada:
