Pretty much the same experience as I had with my 94 Ford. By the time I got rid of it I had had 23 quality control or design failures ranging from full transmission failure to head gaskets to stupid little annoying things.

The State Patrol in my area recently purchased a few Chargers for patrol cars & though I most likely will not purchase another Chryler product after several transmission failures. I must say these patrol units are pretty bad ass looking, I actually don't mind seeing them on occasion as long as they are not parked behind me w/ the sex bubbles going ( when you see then you know someone is getting F%$#@*, No disrespect to our LEO members).
KC, most of what you said I can agree with, except I had a 89' Daytona w/ a 2.5 ltr & a 5 spd & it was one of the funnest commuter cars I've owned & pretty much bullet proof though it did go thru a head gasket. I ended up giving the car to an ex-GF's neice as a 16th birthday present, only to have her turn around & sell it to get a 4 door Dynasty because she didn't want to learn how to drive a stick. I wish I would have kept it in retrospect, was a rust free immaculate little buget beater(consistanly got over 30 mpg, but wasn't running the Autobahn either).

All of my American cars were poopers. Now the Hondas...700,000mi over three used Hondas. My '93 Accord got me 38mpg at average speed of 80mph last Tuesday. She has 230,000 miles on her right now. I won't buy another American car.

That Challenger needs an 01 on the side and a rebel flag on the roof.

I won't even try to hide this, the 09 GMC Sierra I'm buying in September will be my LAST American made vehicle unless it blows me away as being off the scale awesome. My 91 Chevy C1500 was the 2nd best vehicle I ever owned, 187k miles & never anything more than normal wear tear ever went wrong with it. My 92 Camaro RS 5.0 was the best vehicle I ever owned. It had almost 300k when I sold it & again, except for normal wear & tear, it too never failed in any way.

    Every Chrysler I've owned, CRAP.
    Every Toyota I've owned, CRAP.
    Only Ford I've owned, CRAP.
Only BMW (86 525I) I've owned, blew up the same day I bought it.
Only MB (87 190), to expensive for an E4 to own.
    I could go on.
Every GM vehicle (all 92 or older), rock solid reliable.
Every Honda motorcycle I've owned, rock solid reliable.

Man I was just fishing for a Starion or Conquest go figure!!! with Cars and bikes you just have to love them or hate them. There are way too many REAL options to chose from in what you want. ( Sorry I do not make six figures) For me I am lusting over the Mustangs. With all the this or that aside FORD is doing in a marketing thing a good job on the Stang with all the Different packages. What other dealer is doing this??? (SRT8 or the like)(Calaber that is a dog) is the only thing that comes to mind and I willl stop there..

It is all what you want.
In my town the township went to the chargers for unmarked cars for quite some time.
The Challanger that was all in the press was also lowered with larger tires than option just an FYI.

well go figure after 13 years on a Honda VFR I went to a UK Triumph Sprint ST and I say to myself well I now know what I was missing

Know why I don't like the Dodge Charger? Other than the fact it's a Chrysler product?

There was never a 4 door Charger. The name of that car should have been Coronet or Polara. To put the name Charger on it is an insult to the old school MOPAR's.

That sucks about the F-150, I own a 2006 F-150 and have 64,000 miles on it and have not experienced one single warranty issue. I believe you got one that was put together on a late Friday afternoon, probably right before christmas.

    Style and quality issues aside;
I think it's great that RWD cars are coming back.
Nothing is better then a V8 and RWD with enough power to steer with your right foot!!!
I think we all got spoon-fed lame FWD shitty cars for too long!!!
Long live heavy powerful V8 cars!!!!!

    just my $.02 :)

The RWD V8 boom in the USofA will be short lived. The new average fuel economy standard start to take effect in 2012. The average needs to go from 27 to 35 over a 5 year span. There is no way a 6.2 V8 Camaro or 6.1 Challenger is going to help with this & the power models will be gone. Sad, so sad.

Same with the Chevy Malibu, and Impala. I don't remember any 4 doors of these being produced in the 60's-70's. And again they killed the Monte Carlo, bummer. Our next vehicle will be a Volvo XC-90, more than likely the V-6, as I don't want to feed a V-8. I bitch now about having to pay for gas in my VFR. If I were to get a truck it would be a 4 door Toyota Tacoma. We currently have a Toyota Avaln, and in 10 years the only thing that I've had to do to it other than oil changes is change tha starter. We have also had a Volkswagen Jetta, an '89, it was a good little car. Our Olds was a total P.O.S. When I get back to the States I'd like to find a nice little MR-2, or RX-7, small, easy to park, cheap to insure (for me) light on gas with just enough performance to keep me happy.

rx7s are VERY bad on fuel. especially for how gutless they are. you'll be lucky to get 20mpg in any rx7 even the non turbo version.

Mr2 are also poor on fuel unless you get a NA base model.

GTIs are junk, but better on fuel than MR2s and RX7s. they are rated at 22city 29hwy and probably get worse if you actually want to keep up with traffic

a 3rd gen rx7 will be much much faster than both, but very expensive for an older car

i pay around 100/month for insurance on my z28, on the highway i get high 20smpg around town i get about 20. driving a mix of highway city i get about 25 thats with some WOT trips mixed in. 350rwhp 350rwtq (LTs, Y, LID)

    id recommend any LT1 or LS1 powered camaro/firebird over a rx7, MR2, or GTI

stay away from a rx7 or rx8 they are both garbage.

    plus you can do this:

I hear lots of people say VW's are junk. Normally, this is from people who've never owned one. Both of the one's we've had have been problem free. The Jetta had 1 warranty claim in 4 years & the GTI 0 in 2.5 years. GTI's will outhandle most of the Japanese econo-rockets. Some pinhead in a Civic with a trash can sized tailpipe tried to run against me one day. After destroying him to the next light, he asked what was under the hood & I said, "Bone stock VW with a 4 year warranty, beeyatch." Boy, that guy didn't like hearing that.
