I can listen to most music, have some favorites... but figured I'd list the odd-ball stuff that you may not have heard of that I like instead of the songs you'd hear on the radio.

Liquid Soul - the only band fan-club I ever joined to ensure I'd hear them when they came by. They were Grammy nominated under a jazz category that was won by Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. I liked "Make Some Noise" best. With their cover of Miles Davis "All Blues" being the creme du la creme.

Spike Jones: hey, someone has to list him as he was awesome to listen to on the folks Hi-Fi turn table.

Kix: Baltimore-based hair band that had one power ballad hit in the 80's. listen to "Blow My Fuse" or "The Itch" instead of "Don't Close Your Eyes". Their live album at University of MD is my choice here.

Marv Herzog: This guy was the best thing out for Frankenmuth, MI since Christmas Ornaments. He's why I wanted leather pants before I rode a motorcycle and still have a craving for der BMW. Marv defines American Bavarian.

Not a fan of opera music, can listen to country or western, but country and western at the same time. Hip-Hop I don't usually like and most rap makes little sense... though the M&M's sometimes make me smile.... Biscuits that are flacid usually do not disappoint either.

Geez BZ Mad Max, VFR's and '80's Punk in common what next ?

Kicking myself for missing the DK's when they toured here in '83, was big into Punk / Thrash through the '80's beside's the US Punk like DK's, Suicidal Tendencies, Angry Samoans, Gang Green ( loved " Alcohol " ) saw Rollins (many times), DRI, Green Day and any other Punk / Thrash band whenever they toured.

UK Punk bands saw Buzzcocks a few times and listened to the UK Subs, Peter and the Test Tubie Babies etc.

As well as seeing many dozens of local Indie & Punk bands the House was sharing used to have Party's where local Sydney Punk bands like Hard Ons, Spunk Bubbles and Mass Appeal used play in our back yard... Way Cool

Mind have to be in a different mood to re-visit that music these days.

I think we had parallel lives going in the 80's brother.

I was too young to see the DK's before they broke up. Got to see Buzzcocks! Damn! I am envious.

Rollins too! Some of my friend were serious Black Flag fans. I liked BF and Rollins solo, but not as much as some others.

We were blessed to have a local hardcore scene too. I grew up near the Great Lakes (Erie, PA to be exact) and bands like Ringworm, My Three Scum and Somthin to Prove used to play. I don't think people appreciate a real good mosh pit till they go to a local show like that. Saw some wild stuff LOL!

I'll tell you who puts on a real good punk show and their first album "Barely Legal" is 30 minutes of pure energy is The Hives. First time I heard them I was like damn! Ol' New York City can still crack out a good punk band. Then I found out they are from Sweden! Saw them at The Black Cat in D.C. when I lived in Maryland. Small club with about 300 people. One of the best concerts I've ever seen. They blew the roof off the place. Gave me faith the power of punk rock will never die.

I just realized that The Church is from Australia! I forgot about that fact.

    Thanks for the links!

Nice choices. NOFX's album "The War on Errorism" was just awesome. It had been some time since a consistantly good punk album came out.

I was upset that Green Day's album got more circulation. Not becasue I hate Green Day or anything, just NOFX's was way better in out current climate.

There is pretty much nothing put out that I will not listen to with exception to a lot of country and western....

As a child of the 70's I was brought up listening to Elton John, ELO, Peter Frampton, Jefferson Airplane, Queen, Pink Floyd, Led Zep, Jethro Tull and Aerosmith of course.... Throw in some Beatles, Cream, and Rolling Stones from my Mom's collection...

When I went to school in the 80's a stoner friend walked p to me and thought he was introducing me to something new when he put a Pink Floyd Dark side ofthe Moon tape in my hand.... I made a tape of my Wall album for him and he thought I was a god....

The 80's for me was all over the place in the realm of music a lot of which I still love.. The Cars, the Clash, the B-52s, J-giels Band, U2 and Van Halen was a new discovery for me...

Early 90's was my metal phase and I was into Great White, Metallica, KiX, Tesla, Warrant, and then I went old school hard rock with Black Sabath, Ozzy... I then discovered Bush, Nirvana, Black Crows, Rage Against the Machine, Guns N Rosesand Garbage...

Of late I go all over... Currently my truck's 6 disk CD player has:
    The Bangles Greatest Hits
    Stevie Ray Vaughn
Gretchen Wilson (Kind of country but the wife loves her..)
    Susan Tedeschi
    Bare Naked Ladies Rock Spectacle
    Slot 6 is emppty....

In my car right now I have 3 CDs... Kings of Leon, Flogging Molly, and Kaiser Chiefs

I also listen to Lyrics Born sometimes...I don't think he's been mentioned...

I like NIN, Rage, Linkin Park, Puddle of Mudd, Staind, Foo Fighters, Chevelle, and the like, but I think my all time number one favorite at least for the last 10 years is the Red Hot Chili Peppers. They are at least partially responsible for me living in California or Commiefornia as some of you like to call it...

Cheers on The Hives have to get their CD...tomorrow...didn't know they were Swedish. For some reason think " Hate To Say I Told You So " feels in bits a little like Stooges " Search and Destroy " but '60's grundgey rather than hard ???

Loved the Churchs songs " The Unguarded Moment " & " Under the milky way "
and James Freuds " Modern Girl " but as early '80's main stream Indie bands I saw liked the " Sunnyboys " or a little earlier late '70's bands " Radio Birdman " & Saints best. :thumb:

that's definitely a part of it, too... you know I spent a couple years out here without a bike and that was pure torture... I would just look at the roads and dream about having a bike...

yeah I like them. they have an interesting story. I first read about them in Playboy a few years back. They never seem to quite make it to mainstream but to me they are sort of a modern day Lynard Skynard. They also remind me a little of Jet (another band I like)

    I'm pretty much a rock/metal guy;
Loooove Zeppelin, thier music never bores me even after all these years.
I like a lot of the '80's metal (the music of my youth, when I was bullet-proof,cocky and too optimistic)
I have 'Maiden tix for June 9 in my sweaty hands right now!!
I also have Rush tix and am impatiently waiting for that show!!
    'Crue
    'Sabbath
    Ozzy
    'Priest
    Motorhead
    AC/DC
    G'n'R
    Ramones
Metallica (before they cut thier hair and turned into a bunch of pussies)...Everybody says Metallica sucks now right??...well who is buying all those records?
    Alice in Chains
    Korn
    Scorpions
The New Duncan Imperials...they friggi'n rule!!!Anybody out there ever hear of these guys? They are a Rock/punk/thrash/etc.. band from Chicago and thier live show is incredible!!!
