Was at the Big-A in Anaheim, like 76-77. The line up was Sammy Haggar, Van Halen, Black Sabath and Boston. After the first three bands Boston was kind of let down.

I saw Reba MacIntire in a gym in Sikeston before she got popular. It was in the 80s. I think the first time I drove to see a show in an auditorium was Poison and Britney Fox... Yay hair bands!

    Van Halen 1984

Best concert I ever saw was Pink Floyd (Division Bell) in Oakland.

Probably the Scorpions around '83-'84 at the Cow Palace. Or maybe Van Halen, Priest or Krokus!

Last concert was last summer, Chris Botti and Diana Krall...what a journey, Krokus to jazz.. lol

The Doors at the Alexandria Roller Rink battle of the bands in '66 (Ithink it was '66). Those years all kinda blend together.

Superfest 1982 at Rich Stadium, Buffalo NY = Ted Nugent, Iron Maiden, Loverboy and Foreigner.
That winter I saw my second concert, Rush on the Signals tour. Good stuff for the 7th grade!
I don't want to think about the money I had spent on concerts from then through college and a few beyond.

I only wish I could have seen the Doors, Janice, Airplane, etc. Just before my time. I really disliked much of the 80s music and moved back to the late 60s and early 70s stuff in my high school years.

If I remember right it was The Cult on their Sonic Temple tour, it was '88 or '89 I believe, Dangerous Toys opened, Bonham was the middle act, and The Cult closed , it was a pretty good show.

The first concert I "heard" was while at the County fair back in the late 60's and the band was singing "come on baby light my fire"
My first see the band concert was Three Dog Night at 17 with a date. Dad had to drive us :(

I saw kiss on their first tour as a headliner and their last,,,,,well they said it was their last :)
I also loved Alice Coopers Welcome to my nightmare stage show

My daughters firs was when she was 5 to Stryper and White Lion. She was raised on HEADBANGING music. She was on my shoulders with ear plugs.

A 14 year (or so) old girl who was pretty drunk (staggering) came up to me and chewed me out for bringing my daughter to a concert. I smiled at her and motioned her to leave. She was by far a worse thing than the band on the stage. My daughter didnt miss a beat she just was grooving to the music and when some adult came up and banged his/her head to her she did the same back. She smiled ear to ear!!!! It was getting quite annoying as when someone saw her do it to someone else they had to try it.

P.S. Stryper was a Christian Hair Band

Lastly we saw Cinderella in Thunder Bay Canada while at a small bar before the Metal hay day. Hey canucks dont like it when you mimic them like the McKenzie brothers did. I almost got a guitar rammed where the sun dont shine when I made fun.

First concert that wasn't the parents taking me or a school trip was The Cure - Disintegration Tour ('88 or '89) at the Meadowlands in NJ. The Pixies opened for them. Good show, but not in my top five.

Deep Purple was the first mainstream band in 1983, first Indy bands were probably Aussie bands " The Saints " or " Sunnyboys " in 1982.

The McKenzies are Canadian. And those who were pissed with you were probably totally pissed themselves eh. Don't sweat it. You guys never get the emphasis right anyways. Its like speaking Chinese words. It is all in the tone. And after 24 years living within a Chinese family some of them I still don't get right. And if you don't think we have fun with your accents, phrases and mannerisms, you are mistaken.

Have fun. Just don't be rude.:fish:

Now that the older folk have spoke, I can proudly say my first and only one of two concerts I went to was Chicago when they were in Winnipeg back around 1971. What a show. They played "I'm a Man" as an onchore and it lasted about 1/2 hour. The other was Three Dog Night. Hum drum. Sure would have liked to see Zepplin ond The Doors though. Common baby light my fire.

Santana in Chicago in October of 1969. There was a riot and 200 were arrested. I was 11 years old and grooving on the 'brave new world'.
My parents didn't allow me to go to another concert for 4 years. Then I went nuts and did 1 or more concerts a week for a few years. I've seen The Who, Led Zep, Pink Floyd each 3 or more times. Just about every rock band that toured until the early 80's. (But no hair bands)
Eventually ended up working for ShowCo and touring my self with a few bands. The best one to tour with was Bob Seager and the Silver Bullet Band.
