You are correct, KC. Leaving some chicken strips is a good thing, especially if you're riding on the highway. I only mentioned it because the bike is so competent at so many different types of riding - slab, tight curves, sweepers, long miles.

 I'd trade my 6th gen for a 5th gen in a heartbeat

& I'd love to have back my or another RC45 again

KC10, the RC51 is one of the funnist track/Race bikes I've owned, I sold my race Duc 998 & kept racing the RC51 because I did better lap times & Valves "STILL" haven't been out of spec, the 998 forced me into becoming a mechanic :frown:

As for trading for a newer bike, I'm not impressed enough, I'll just wait for the VFR1000, RC61, & the aprillia V-4, to come out :first:

I owned a 2008 Kawasaki C14 prior to the VFR, laid the C14 down and totaled it, took a '04 VFR for a ride and liked it much better. Ended up buying the '04 and then traded int in on a '07 RWB. The C14 offered more wind protection, but it put out a LOT of heat and you could feel it's weight in the corners. C14 had gobs of power but you had to crank up the rpms to get there. I like the V4 midrange, it is more streetable than the C14. So, I'll be sticking with the VFR for a while fits me quite well.

If they do come our with a 1000cc tha has the same ergos, I would consider one to replace the RWB down the road.

I've heard the C14 is a lot of bike for the road.... Probably ok for long highway trips but it is long and low. I rode one last fall and I was impressed with it. Not enough to trade for my bike though. That K bike still gets to me though. Wait until next season when all of the new middleweight, 675s and WSB replicas come out from BMW, Aprilia, and Benelli. Thats gonna hurt....

I'd possibly trade my 07 VFR for a newer 1000cc version. Though, after sitting on a buddie's GSXR-1000 and realizing how much lighter those type of bikes are...I'd have to see what direction Honda takes the next VFR (especially if they bump the displacement).

If they make the 1000cc version porkier, my considerations would include:

    CBR1000RR
    1098S
    YZF-R1

I'm leaning toward the 1098S...for the sound:smile: (check my "cheated" forum post)

I like my VFR a lot, so if I got one of these it would probably be an addition to my "stable", not a replacement  I'm giving myself two years to figure it out.

Tomorrow looks like a good day to ride and forget all of these ideas of trading bikes. It happens out on the road, you just come out of some back road and it happens, you get that smile and think how great your bike is. I'm sure we've all been there. I think we would all be torn over the 1000cc VFR. I didn't include it in my list originally because its still a hope for most of us but not sitting in a showroom trying to displace our VFRs. The threat from a lot of these bikes is real and gets stronger every year Honda rests. You can only fight off these temptations for so long. Italian twins and Triples from the UK with that signature sound, Brembo brakes and Ohlins suspension.... We know they work great and they even look great on the bike!! High powered inline 4s that are "governed" to 186mph..... Just because they can, cool even if you never do it!! Isn't it great to be a motorcycle enthusiast today! Where did I put that lottery ticket?

Lottery ticket?? I'm just waiting for my next promotion...which happens in 17 days. Thank you, Air Force  It's just one step closer I am to a set of those "Italian Twins" (for the record, I don't care what nationality they are...as long as they're big and there's two of em')

I don't think I could bring myself to get rid of my 500 (You never forget your first, but I don't think there's anything better than having your first around at your leisure when you bring something a little younger with curvier lines home  )

If I had to pick something non-VF/VFR, I'd go with an Yamaha FC6. At work I had to bring a used one around the building up the lift and into a spot, rode it in the parking lot for a bit. I really like the ergos, weight and the fact that as short as I am, I can flat foot both feet 10 inches out.

    Sinful thoughts, I know.

I really love the look of Duc 848/1098, but I`ve already owned a V-twin sportsbike. So something with an inline four maybe, like a CBR1000RR(2007, don't like the look of the new model), GSXR750, GSXR1000, or Yamaha R1....

Or perhaps sport-touring bike (again) like Kawasaki ZZR1400(ZX-14 to you), Hayabusa or BMW K1200S.

I love my VFR but when I trade her in, its going to be for something more powerful....

    VFR1000?
