Does anyone know of a set of soft bags that will fit on the sixth gen (2006) bike? I don't want bags all the time but for the occasional road trip. I have a tank bag and a tail bag. but i need more storage (luggage) space. my concern is: they all have a strap that has to go under the seat around the exhausts. anyone use anything they really like?

These are the larger Cortech version. I have used them for 4 or 5 years on my SV650, and now use them on the VFR. They have 4 straps that hold them in position. I had to drill 4 holes in the rear fender, 2 on each side, next to the license plate bracket to install some U-bolts for the back straps to attach to. The only concern I had/have is how close they are to the mufflers. With careful adjusting, they clear, but not by much.

The nice thing about these bags is they hold quite a bit, the contents are accessible from the top with the bags on the bike, and they have a carrying handle that velcros together for carrying them, so you only need one hand. If you are interested in them, I could take some pictures of the U-bolts and the mounting straps to give you more detail.

I was wondering if it's safe to use soft side luggage on our VFR VTEC's?

I have a pair of Hein-Gericke soft luggage, left over from my old bike, and I was wondering if they would cause problems with the VFR?

    Thanks!

    why would they?
The soft bags i have have a neprean type barrier and they do touch the exhaust shields and i have had no problems with them.

I would sugest mounting them on yur bike and see where they contact. things touching the pipes should not be made of paper..they don't get to to hot as there is that shield there...other than that check interferance.
