I bought a ramp for loading my VFR onto my Dodge Ram pickup. The first time I tried to use it I bottomed out just as my centerstand was at the top of the ramp. Almost lost it, but fortunately a buddy with me helped to get it stabilized and backed down.
So, I found a place where I could get the ramp raised about 4" higher at the bottom, and after that I have had no problem loading and unloading.
HOWEVER, I had previously ordered new wheels and tires for my truck (not yet installed) which increases wheel and tire diameter by about 3", which would compound my loading problem. (From stock 17" to 20" wheels).
So, I have not yet installed the new wheels, and am wondering if there are any suggestions. For example, I have considered buying some blocks to drive the front wheels up on, which should lower the rear to help with loading the bike.
    Any suggestions appreciated.

Are you sure the diameter of the tire is going to increase that much on your truck? Because if it has a large sidewall now, that will disappear once you have the 20's with low profile tires on. It might not be a full 3 inches is all I am saying. I am sure that you already considered this though.

Do you have a ditch to back up to? Used to work for me...but unloading somewhere else is the problem still. Using blocks and a 2x6 as an extention to your ramp raised up on those blocks might help...yes, no, maybe...Yahtzee?

I'd go find a loading dock. that or don't load it, as VFRs don't like to be tied down.

    I have 20" rims, 34" tall tires, & 2.5" lift kit, on my '07 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4.
So I either put my rear wheels in the bottom of the driveway curb & use "two" ramps, one to walk up & one for the bike.

@ other things you can do is:-
    1. buy oil change ramps to raise your front & lower the rear of the truck.
    2. buy a 8' ramp & cut down your angle.

with taller tyres & lift kit, you may need to do # 1 & 2

Trifold ATV ramps are the best, with you having a place to walk up with the bike & they fold up to only tak up the space of a single ramp

put your back tires in a driveway. I have no problems loading in my 1/2 ton, my dad's 4x4 or the 1-ton ranch truck. And yes, I do ride [IMG]

Yes, Jason. The Wheel/Tire diameter is 3.5" taller than the 17's. Your ideas are good. I would really like to use the 20's as they look so good, but hauling my VFR with me is pretty important too.
    thanks.

That is exactly what happened to me the first time I tried to load my VFR. However, I had someone with me who grabbed the bike and helped to stabilize it. Looks like the one in the video bottomed out same as mine. I was able to find a high island in the parking lot of a public school nearby to load and unload with no problem. If I hadn't had help with me, I would have gone over just like the guy in the video. :pope2:
