I plan to take rotor lessons at Mazzie Flying Service in Fresno...my buddy is doing it now. I will be retired if CA does't have a collapse and there is still money in PERS. Then I want to fly with my wife. I was a Load Master on C-141 Cargo jets in the AF from 1981-88 and my wife was flight nurse. We thought it'd be fun to fly together for ten years or so, then maybe be missionary pilot and nurse flying for Mission Aviation Fellowship until we're too old and dangerous. Did you say you lived in a rural town in CA. We're in Sonora.
