I have been to Hooters in Hollywood on University about 5 months ago. Its basically one turn for me, and then straight down Pines Boulevard. Once there, its nice as its local for me, When I moved down here there used to be more of a bike night scene, but it is getting better. Being how your new to the area, I would recommend going to Cafe 27 on Thursday night. Its a truck stop/bar/cafe. Thursday night they have a cruiser crowd but have live music and a g-string contest at the end of the night. Pretty much goes to 2 AM or so. That venue is also almost two turns from where I live.

You could get there (Cafe 27) by either the Palmetto or Kendal Drive, head down either Krome Avenue or Oakachobee (Rt 27) go North and when you get to Griffin, your location is on the right.
