    I did use silicone lube grease...brand is Super Lube..Also used it on my Valkyrie brake rebuild and no issues......

    I did a full on brake rebuild because I had dragging front brakes. Rebuilt both front calipers, twice. repllaced the stock 25+ year...

    It should operate all the locks--they're not sophisticated. Maybe the wafers/pins in the tank lock are worn, and the key is too...
