Ive run that pocket plugger on several tires to the cords. Its always the rear - whats up with that? Um- so you are throwing out the old Roadsmart?

OEM Honda R/Rs do run hot - 200 degrees was my guess by the finger burn test, doesnt mean its good ----- but 15+ volts at 5K is on the high side....
The charging system is a 3 legged stool that if one part is farked it may take the rest of it with it. Please review thread........

Sounds like you need to do the charge up the battery and go get it load tested. - I havent heard of any of these R/Rs running less than 14v at 5k rpm.
I would take a few photos of your install and shoot them to the Roadstercycle, even get on the phone with the guy.......
^^^ I helped install a Roadstercycle kit on a neighbors Suzuki and it went fine. Good product.

2 cents worth - IMHO ---- I think the R/R is aftermarket, but cant identify it. - There is a R/R check with a meter, it might be worth it to run...

If you bought the Roadstercycle kit, it wires direct to the battery and you wont need the VFRness. -- I admit I'm anal, but I would ask tightwad...
