Simply connect it into the rear brake light switch. I made up a sub harness which clips in.
The connector Is behind the coolant tank, 2 pin....
Nowt wrong with the design just the idiots that fit them and tighten up using the Hex. The same Hex that is only supposed to be used when removing...

Look at the rail of the exhaust. You will see a tube and a small bolt with a tack weld file that weld off remove bolt pull out tube.

All Hondas about that age on fi were a bit rubbish at very low revs, usual work round was use a different gear.

The” harder” touring type tyres operate far better than “sports” tyres at cooler temps due to having more silica in them.
Check your charging system Ideally it should be reading around 14.5 v @ 5k revs with lights on main beam.
Check the diode, could be faulty.
