As far as plastic, there is no "limited availability of parts". Honda HQ here in Torrance had pallets full of 94-97 plastic last time I was in there.

No worries. With the parts in hand it really is a less than one hour fix, and simple to do.
They are cheap if you think you see wear on them. I didn't, and left mine alone and re-used them.
