Does anyone know if there is a way to replace the throttle cables on a 1984 vf500f without removing the carburetors. My cables are frayed through right next to the handle bars. From what I have seen when I took off the fuel tank and airbox, there is no way for me to reach the throttle and unhook the end of the cable from the spring. If anyone has any tips or tricks on replacing the throttle cable please let me know.

    Step 1: Remove carbs.

Wasn't til the 86 VFR750F that they started putting the cables on the side of the carbs.

Even if you somehow manage to get them off you will not get them back on and properly secured and adjusted without carb removal. The good news that it is a great opportunity to take care of all the 35+ year old rubber items.

    Welcome to early V4 maintenance.
