Hi Guys, I am new to the forum and would like to introduce myself.

I have a 1984 VF500f Interceptor that i rebuilt the carbs on, but have four springs I can't remember the locations of? Pretty poor considering I know better, however I am desperate, the manual doesn't show and I can't find any schematics that are useful online.

Two are small and the same size, i think they go between two linkages that have screw adjustments.

The other two fare same size, larger in diameter but have a different number of wraps and one is considerably lighter than the other.

I'm not sure how to post pics yet, I hope someone can help.

    Best regards

    Scott

Howdy Scott, welcome to the Vworld

If you can post a picture of the springs and linkage in question it might help, but generally the small diameter tightly wound springs are for pre-loading the adjuster screws on the linkage plates as you said. The larger diameter lightly wound springs are used for putting an axial preload on the ends of the throttle shafts between carbs.

Thicker springs tension adjustment screws while thinner springs get sandwiched between segments under the screws. Other springs mentioned by K-B have a diameter of about 1/2".
