1984 VF700f vs 1985 VF500f exactly same body parts?

    Is that basically exactly same body just different size engine? Would powertrain from 700 be exactly fit to 500? I have found mint 500, thinking of swapping powertrain from my beat up 700? Including wiring, of course.

    It sounds like you are actually considering a engine swap to the 500. That's been discussed in detail before and shown to be very difficult requiring much fabrication.

    What you might be thinking is the 700/750/1000's. The engines swap between those models much more easily.

    Sorry, that's not really possible. By the time you were finished you would end up fabricating an entire new frame. Those are very different engines. Just because they are Honda V4's does not mean they are similar - the 1100's are shaft drive and the crank rotates the opposite direction.

    The 500 is a unique model in the Interceptor line so there isn't much "swapability" with the other bikes.

    I've often wondered if a motor from an entirely different bike, like an SV650, might be practical.

    I read somewhere that someone did the sv swap.. They said it was a lot of work. I just read it a couple weeks ago, but i cant direct you b/c i don't remember were i saw it.
